Richard Bennett, psychotherapist and clinical director, was awarded a patent in 2006 for his Brief Therapy Treatment Planner. His therapy and marriage and family therapy is based on Individual Behavior Pattern Theory, and he has written numerous papers an articles describing his very effective techniques.
He works with children of all ages, couples, families, and adults. He has testified over 700 timnes in Court, and he is a Preferred Provider for many insurance companies covering individuals in Northwest Indiana. He also welcomes private pay clients.
Working with his wife, Patricia Work Bennett, RN, they offer a holistic approach to health, including nutrition, brain integration excercises, guided imagery and biofeedback.
Specialties: Clients coming to Listening Incorporated present with anxiety, phobias, depression, difficulties at school or on the job, post-traumatic stress disorder, marital issues, including blended or stepfamily issues, parenting, divorce, chronic health issues, including cancer. The Bennetts are both survivors of life-threatening diseases and share many resources with clients facing the panic of acute and chronic health challenges. While they have been married for over 30 years, this is their second marriage, and they share 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
Training other professionals: The Bennetts have traveled throughout the Midwest, and from Hawaii to Massachusetts and from Texas to North Dakota, conducting seminars and continuing education workshops for educators, clergy, and mental health professionals.
